Long time gone

Thu May 8, 2008, 9:08 AM
It's been a while since I've written anything besides the odd journal entry. But lately I've felt the desire to start writing again. So I've made a pact with myself to write something every night, not worrying about whether it's good or not, just pushing myself out of this year-long writers strike. If it goes well, hopefully I'll be posting here again.

I am incredibly impressed by your poetry, can't wait to get back to read more of it. I'll definitely have to keep you on my :+devwatch: list so I don't miss any future writings.

BTW, I experienced Rothko last summer for the first time, at the National Gallery in DC. I was fortunate enough to be with my former girlfriend, an artist, who showed me how to find the right distance and let the power of the piece wash over me. Mind-blowing!

I'm glad you were able to experience Rothko correctly, he really felt his works had a spiritual aspect to them, and he hated to be parted with them and refused to sell many of them during his lifetime. If you ever get the chance (or you're in the area) I'd check out the Rothko chapel in Houston, it's amazing in an almost overwhelming way.

Thanks again for your comments, I'd love to have you read anything of mine and give me your opinion.. :)
